I have enjoyed my real estate profession for over 30 years. After I obtained my Real Estate license, I immediately obtained my Brokers license to insure I was as qualified as possible at the beginning of my career. Over the years I have taken the required continuing education courses, but nothing teaches you more than boots on the ground experience. I began my career in Sonoma County and have since broadened my scope to include Napa and Lake Counties. Though close in proximity they are quite diverse. My husband and I bought our first home with his VA benefit. It was my first escrow, we kept signing “one more document” and by the close of escrow we had no monetary reserves due to the constant changes in the lending requirements. The seller was amazingly patient, he wanted us to buy his home and we finally closed a 60-day escrow. I will never forget it. This experience cemented the reason why I wanted to be a qualified Realtor; to represent buyers or sellers in their real property transactions. It is critical to have continuous communication and documentation. Client’s need to understand the purchase or selling process and timelines; the importance of investigations and disclosure, their real estate loan and the agent needs to attend the escrow signing; offering support all the way to the close of escrow. I enjoy being an advocate. Buying or selling a home is a very important element in a person’s life. I want to assist them every step of the way.
